Cast Videos with Subtitles

How does this work?

This is a simple video app allowing you to cast videos with subtitles to any supporting device. Simply load your video, subtitles and then right click the video and select the "Cast" option

Is this free?

Yes, this is completely free. I started this project as a need for me to cast video with subtitles to my projector as I did not find any existing solutions. I thought this might be handy to other people.

Which video formats are supported?

You can play .mp4, .mkv and .webm videos. Other video formats may be supported but have not been tested. Just try and if the video plays in the browser then it will be casted!

Which subtitles formats are supported

The most commonly used formats, .srt and .vtt subtitles format are supported

Is the video uploaded to your server?

No, the video and subtitles are streamed from your computer directly, so no upload, bandwidth usage or uploading time, choose the video and it will play instantly. Check out the Google Local File System API if you are interested in the technical details behind this magic
